On Saturday 2/14/15, Justin Andrew Fields, 26, of Branford was arrested and charged with No Valid DL.
During a routine traffic stop for a tag violation Cpl. Kelly made contact with Fields who freely stated he did not have a valid license. A DHSMV record check confirmed this information.
Fields was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
On Sunday 2/15/15, Keathon Lee Gibbons, 22, of Gainesville was arrested and charged with DUI.
While on routine patrol Cpl. Kelly observed a vehicle accelerate at a high rate of speed causing the speeding vehicle to travel sideways. Cpl. Kelly conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with Gibbons the driver. He observed the strong smell of alcohol on Gibbons and he indicated he and the passenger had been at the Keg Room Bar. Gibbons consented to submitting to several field sobriety test which he was unable to successfully complete.
Gibbons was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges. At the Jail Gibbons provided a breath sample yielding a result of twice the legal limit of alcohol.
On Thursday 2/19/15, Brittany Slaughter, 28, of Wellborn was arrested and charged with Battery.
During the investigation of a physical altercation D/S C Tompkins made contact with the parties involved. The report stated that Slaughter grabbed the victim by the hair and jacket when the victim attempted to prevent Slaughter from hitting another party. It was further stated that Slaughter stomped on the victim's foot which was in a cast at the time.
Slaughter was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
On Thursday, 2/19/15, Brian Harvey Day, 51, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with DUI.
While on routine patrol D/S Tompkins observed a vehicle repeatedly running off the roadway. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, Day, who had the strong smell of alcoholic beverage on his person. During the interview Day admitted to having several drinks at a location in Lake City. Day was unable to successfully complete field sobriety tests. He refused to consent to the breath test for alcohol.
Day was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
On Saturday, 2/21/15, Samuel Ross Driver, 19, of Branford was arrested and charged with Possession -20grams of Cannabis and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
During a routine traffic stop for faulty equipment contact was made with the driver identified as Driver. D/S Garcia observed a prescription bottle in plain view on the back seat of the vehicle. Driver gave consent to search his person and vehicle. The search yielded marijuana in the prescription bottle as well as a pipe, marijuana in the center console of the vehicle and a plastic baggie of marijuana in a boot in the back seat. A field test of the suspected substance was positive for marijuana. Driver admitted the marijuana was his.
Driver was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
On Sunday, 2/22/15, Jose Antonio Gamez, 37, of Gainesville was arrested and charged with No Driver's License. Manuel Gamez-Bustos, 33, of Gainesville was also arrested and charged with Assault on LEO, Resisting without Violence and Battery by Strangulation.
During a traffic stop D/S Kastor made contact with the driver of the vehicle identified as Gamez. A DHSMV records check confirmed Gamez did not have a valid driver's license and he was placed in custody. Upon further investigation one of the passengers in the vehicle indicated Gamez-Bustos hit and attempted to strangle her while in the vehicle. At some point when taking the victims statement, Gamez Bustos exited the vehicle in an aggressive manner preparing to attack D/S Kastor. He was ordered to stop numerous times and finally complied. Gamez-Bustos was also placed in custody.
Gamez and Gamez-Bustos were both arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
On Friday, 2/20/15, Lorinda Lynn Green, 46, of Lake City was arrested and charged with Disorderly Intoxication and Trepass After Warning
Responding to reports of a person walking in the roadway and knocking on doors Cpl. Z Clark made contact with Green. It was observed she had the strong odor of alcohol about her person and she had difficultly speaking, standing or walking. Witnesses in the area indicated she was causing a public disturbance and had remained in the area even after being warned to leave.
Green was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
On Sunday, 2/23/15, Julian Escamilla-Perez, 27, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with No Diver's License. Also arrested was Jose Antonio Rodriguez, 27, of McAlpin. He was charged with Disorderly Intoxication.
In response to a reported vehicle in a ditch D/S Fleming made contact with Escamilla-Perez the driver of the vehicle. It was confirmed that Escamilla-Perez did not have a driver's license via DHSMV records check. He was placed in custody. During the investigation contact was made with Rodriguez to ascertain information about Escamilla-Perez. Rodriguez became belligerent and unruly. It was also observed he smelled strongly on a alcoholic beverage. Several attempts were made to calm Rodriguez down without him complying.
Both Escamilla-Perez and Rodriguez were arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
