15-21148 On Saturday, 7/4/15, James Franklin Battles, 33, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with Battery (Domestic Violence and Criminal Mischief.

During a reported disturbance, deputies responded and made contact with the victims. The victims stated a verbal argument became physical when Battles threw the victim to the ground and punched a family member in the face. When the victim tried to leave Battles threw a bicycle against the vehicles windshield causing damage to the vehicle. The defendant had fled the residence prior to the LEO arriving however was located in the area on a scooter. Battles freely admitted to striking both of the victims and breaking the vehicle windshield.

Battles was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.  


15-22266 On Tuesday, 7/14/15, Jeffrey Eugene Kelly, 55, of Branford was arrested and charged with Battery Domestic Violence.

In response to a reported battery D/S Brooks made contact with the involved parties. The victim stated during a verbal dispute Kelly punched her in the wrist trying to her cell phone. The defendant denied punching or injuring the victim during the argument. A small laceration was visible on the victims wrist.

Kelly was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.



15-22251 On Tuesday, 7/14/15, Angela Maria Benjamin, 36, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with DUI.

Deputies responded to the area of US 90 W in reference to a reported reckless driver swerving into oncoming traffic and failing to maintain a single lane of travel. Upon arrival he observed a vehicle matching the description parked at a local convenient store. He made contact with Benjamin who was seated in the driver''s seat with the vehicle running. During the interview the deputy determined she was unable to answer questions about her current location. She also indicated she had been taking medication throughout the day and her speech was slurred. The defendant was unable to pass any of the field sobriety tests attempted.

Benjamin was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges. 



15-22315 On Wednesday, 7/15/15, Suzanne Strayer Taylor, 44, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with Retail Theft and Possession of -20 grams Marijuana.

During the investigation of a retail theft at a local store, contact with made with the defendant who was detained for intentionally taking $51.97 merchandise fro the store without paying. A brief consented search of Strayer's purse yielded a green leafy substance. When asked the defendant freely admitted to it being marijuana.

Strayer was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.



15-22678 On Saturday, 7/18/15, Carl Lee Therrell, 49, of Wellborn was arrested and charged with Flee/Attempt to Elude, Speeding 130 MPH/ 60 MPH Zone and Reckless Driving.

While on routine patrol D/S Brooks observed Therrell operating a motorcycle accelerating failing to stop at a posted stop sign. He attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the defendant accelerated to 130 MPH in a posted 60 MPH zone. The defendant continued at the high rate of speed for approximately 3 miles passing into oncoming traffic, passing on hills and in no passing zones. He finally yielded and stopped.

Therrell was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.

 


15-22717 On Sunday, 7/19/15, Dave Thomas Dyal, 27, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with Battery. 

In response to a reported altercation a deputy made contact with both parties. The victim reported that during and argument Dyal headbutted the victim in the forehead. At some point during the interview Dyal attempted to land a punch in the victims face in the presence of LEO.

Dyal was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.



15-22722 On Sunday, 7/19/15,  William Jeffery Pope, 39, of Lake City was arrested and charged with Battery (Domestic Violence).

During the investigation of a reported altercation the victim reported Pope bit her abdomen and headbutted her. She further stated the defendant threatened to stab her tires if she attempted to leave. 

Pope was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.



15-22730 On Sunday, 7/19/15, Margie C. Norato, 50, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Motor Vehicle (Domestic).

Deputies responded to a report of a person in a van trying to run over a person on foot. Upon arrival in the area they made contact with the victim. The victim (admitted to having a local warrant was detained) stated Norato was chasing him because of money. Contact was made with Norato at a nearby residence where she stated the victim took her money and she did get in the van and chase him to get the money back.

Norato was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges. The victim was also transported due to the active warrant.



15-22554 On Friday, 7/17/15, Stanley L. Humphries, 67, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery by Strangulation.

In response to a reported battery deputies made contact with both parties. The victim reported that she and the defendant became involved in a verbal argument when the defendant threw a key at her and put his hands around her throat. Humphries stated he became angry when the victim called him a liar and freely stated he put his hands on her chest and throat and quickly removed them and threw a key in anger.

Humphries was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.




15-22902 On Monday, 7/20/15, Sherry Hester, 45, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with Battery Domestic Violence.

Deputies responded to a local residence in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival they contact with multiple victims who advised Hester had become intoxicated and began arguing with several people at the residence. One victim reported she grabbed him by the neck choking him and then struck him in the head. Another victim stated that when he tried to intervene and stop Hester she hit him in the face. An additional victim stated Hester shoved her violently with both hands. The defendant denied attacking anyone and stated everyone was lying. 

Hester was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.



15-22987 On Tuesday, 7/21/15, Aaron Hughes, 22, of Live Oak was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

During the service of an Injunction for Protection Against Domestic Violence the defendant became loud and started cussing and screaming profanities about the petitioner. Hughes agreed to calm down and when he was retrieving personal belongings became verbally loud, cussing and berating the petitioner and verbally attacking the deputy due to the property he could not take from the residence. When escorted from the residence Hughes continued to yell and cuss, kicking dirt and further to causing a disturbance in front of the residence.

Hughes was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail on the stated charges.
